ARCA [archive] is an exhibition showing a reduced edition of the curatorial project 17.(SEPT) [By WeistSiré PC]TM.
ARCA [archive] presents a one-year collection of El Paquete Semanal created by the artists in collaboration with the OMEGA matriz. The archive maintains the exact folder structure used in the OMEGA paquete and contains 52 terabytes of media aggregated between August 1, 2016 and August 21, 2017. This work enables artists and researchers to spend extended periods of time browsing and analyzing the collection’s contents. In addition to preserving the paquete’s ephemeral contents the archive also shares the artists’ research in relation to the original content produced for the paquete audience, the distribution of media throughout Cuba, and the history of logos and promotions within the platform.
